Aleksander Saša Arsenovič was born on November 3, 1966 in Maribor. He has fond memories of his childhood, attending Boris Peče Kindergarten and Franc Rozman Stane Elementary School, and unforgettable memories of his studies at the First Gymnasium Maribor.
A lawyer by education, he began his business career as a tennis player and owner of a tennis school on Lake Constance in Germany. Through the tennis school, he developed the field of sports tourism on the German market in the 1990s. He gained many years of experience in the hospitality industry from 1995 to 2009 as a co-owner and director of the Mexican restaurants Takos doo in Lent in Maribor and in the Europark shopping center. From 1999 to 2013, he expanded his knowledge and experience in the fields of sales, commercial and management as a co-owner and director (until 2010) of the license for the German brand s.Oliver (for the countries of the former Yugoslavia with more than 400 full-time employees).
With the revitalization of the “Kvik” department store in Maribor in 2006, he set a milestone in his career as the owner and director of Galerija Gosposka doo, and with various culinary concepts that are today expressed through the restaurants Restavracija Rožmarin, Steakhouse and La Pizzeria, he brought a cosmopolitan touch to the city on the Drava River.
Saša Arsenovič, with his business activities, not only cared about the healthy development of the company and its employees, but also constantly aimed at the development of the city itself and the Municipality of Maribor. In 2012, he became the owner of three unused properties in the city center and opened the Maribor Inn and Hotel Maribor in them in 2017. The demanding renovation and substantive revitalization of the buildings were awarded the Stelet Award for an exceptional contribution to the preservation of the cultural heritage of the inner city of Maribor, awarded by the Slovenian Conservation Society. Žički Dvor, an exceptional building from the 14th century, which is also owned by Mr. Arsenovič, is also in the process of renovation. The company Galerija Gosposka was declared the best Podravina micro-enterprise, and together with an enthusiastic team, Arsenovič launched the Maribor Friendly Home brand in 2017, which connects content from the fields of gastronomy, culture and tourism in a way that promotes the destination itself, i.e. the city of Maribor.
Saša Arsenovič is a father of four children, an athlete and an enthusiastic seeker of the beautiful, creative, and good. His way of life is constantly intertwined with the thought of how to make his hometown more beautiful and better. Better for the lives of all locals and those who come here for new knowledge, business opportunities, or a vacation. To make Maribor a city for everyone.
