Bernhard Niesner, Co-founder and former CEO of Busuu, led the language-learning platform to a landmark acquisition by Chegg for 385 million euros in 2022. Under his leadership, Busuu became one of the world’s largest online language-learning communities, surpassing 100 million users and serving both individuals and over 500 global businesses with AI-powered courses and human interaction. Beyond Busuu, Bernhard is an active angel investor in over 20 startups, focusing on edtech and climate tech. He has also contributed to the industry as a founding member of the Edtech Founders Club and an advisor for Global Alumni Relations at IE Business School.
