Emma Burrows is the Co-founder and CTO of Portia AI, an open-source framework that enables developers to create AI agents that transparently share their plans, track progress, and seamlessly integrate human oversight. Before launching Portia AI, Emma spent four years at Stripe, where she was the Chief Technology Officer and Board Member of Stripe Payments UK. Prior to Stripe, she spent over seven years at Google, working as a Technical Lead and Manager. Beyond her operational roles, Emma has been an active investor and advisor. Her background also includes leading engineering and digital experience at Charlotte Tilbury Beauty, where she drove the company’s e-commerce transformation. In 2025, she was recognized by Sifted as one of the 15 AI founders to watch.
