Dr. Marta Klanjšek Gunde is CEO, co-founder and co-owner of MyCol, a spin-off of the National Institute of Chemistry (NIC) in Ljubljana, Slovenia. She worked at NIC in the field of materials science, including smart coatings for solar thermal conversion, radiative cooling, security, electrochromic, photochromic and thermochromic coatings. Under her leadership, the institute has been conducting basic research on thermochromic materials since 2008. This research led to the founding of the company in 2017, when the first irreversible thermochromic material was synthesized. The company succeeded in acquiring prestigious research and development projects, including Eurostars and EIC Accelerator, which enabled the development of innovative irreversible thermochromic inks for critical temperature indicators in a wide range from – 45 to 200 °C.
