“I am someone who tries to tell people that it is possible.”
Matija Goljar is the founder of Ustvarjalnik, the most prominent social venture in Slovenia, one of the co-creators of the Slovenian youth entrepreneurship ecosystem, a member of Silicon Gardens Fund, TV host and start-up business mentor. After founding his first company at the age of 19, he spent most of his free time creating a network of entrepreneurship courses around the country, which after a lot of serendipity became Ustvarjalnik, one of the most visible social impact businesses in Slovenia. Matija’s work directly impacted over 5,000 young entrepreneurs, and he has been an irreplaceable piece of the business success of well over 100 companies, some of which are at the forefront of their industries today. The wider population of Slovenia knows him most by his role as the co-creator and TV host of Start it up Slovenia, an award-winning television show that follows stories of young entrepreneurs as they put their products on the shelves of supermarkets across the country.
